24 Sep Welcome to Ariels World!
Hello and welcome to our new site. Super exciting for me!!
We are now officially live and for those of you who don’t know me my name is Raylene and Ariel is my daughter. We originally started this blog journey on another blog I run called 1skin lifestyle. I decided to introduce my daughter to my friends on social media this way as she has Down Syndrome. I wasn’t sure what the reaction would be and I was very nervous. To be honest I didn’t think any one would read it as I really only got a few views on each blog post in the past but I was pleasantly surprised. The response and support was overwhelming and the blog updates continued from there. I found it was something I loved doing so this idea was born. I had also read other blogs by parents who had children with Down Syndrome and they were helping me a lot.
It can be a strangely lonely time straight after the diagnosis. Down Syndrome NSW and Lifestart Australia were such an amazing support network. I was quick to connect with them and am glad I did. And that is how the Ariel candle was born. As I already manufacture lip balm and candles for a living I decided to do an Ariel candle (and a balm will be coming in the future) to honour my daughter and also to raise money for these 2 wonderful charities. Please pop over and read about our candle and if you can support us that would be great. Here is the media release with all the details ariel media release
Ariel is a beautiful, bright and curious little girl. She is about to turn 8 months old. She continues to surprise us every day and we wouldn’t change her for the world. We love her to bits!! If you are interested in her journey so far please scroll down and look through the posts I have migrated over here if you haven’t read them already. Leave a comment even to just say hi and introduce yourself.
Through this website and blog I hope that I can change the way in people relate to others with special needs. Obviously I want to raise awareness and I hope I can help others who are going through the same as we are. Community can be a real help and I have met some wonderful people that I would never have met. Please share this page with anyone who you think may benefit. Life our Facebook page and Twitter page and join the conversation. If you have a blog please share your link. I welcome suggestions for posts and look forward to connecting with you. Raylene xo
P.S Special thank you to my cousin Adam from adambartoncreative who has generously donated his time to create all the beautiful branding and this amazing website (while on his honeymoon!!!). We are so grateful and happy with the results. xx
