June Musings

Estimated reading time 2 and  half minutes.

I have been seriously tired over this last month and I carry around a lot of guilt. I hope I am giving enough of myself to Ariel’s development. I want to do more but I at the moment I am finding it hard. I will get used to all the extra work, I just hope it is sooner rather than later.  I am been restructuring my business over the last month with the help of Adam, my cousin. I can’t wait to show you all very soon.

Reading: One of our lovely friends, from the mothers group we used to attend, gave us a great book recommendation last month. Where is the Green Sheep and Ariel loves it. She also loves the animal books I have got her. Her carers at daycare have also remarked on how much Ariel loves books. This is a good sign I think. I did go out of my way to start with reading early and regularly as I read in Parenting for Down Syndrome 101 it would be beneficial for her.

I am reading The Four Agreements by Don Migual Ruiz which I am loving and having a lot of “penny dop” moments…..I am also reading The Buddhist Boot camp by Timber Hawkeye and learning to lower my expectations.

Animal sounds are our thing right now. She has all of a sudden started saying them and it is so cute! She loves saying ssssss for snake the most. She is really using her voice more and more. I am going to do a key sign course very soon. Ariel is very keen to talk and communicate. She is also standing with more confidence and starting to climb. She can walk assisted by the couch now. She knows how to do “gentle” hands.

Eating: Nothing exciting lately. Ariel almost has all of her teeth and is eating very well.

Hating: Being tired.

Loving: Sneaking Ariel in to my bed at nights. I also love spending time outdoors with Ariel. She really loves being outdoors, just like me.
