09 Mar Vote Ariel in the Bonds Baby Comp 2015.
Estimated reading time 2 and a quarter minutes
Around a year ago I was sitting on the couch having just fed my new little baby. I was sort of watching the morning show Studio Ten when Ita Buttrose said something that got my attention … Down Syndrome.
Having just had a baby a few months ago diagnosed with Down Syndrome of course my ears pricked up and I turned up the volume to hear more. But I felt sick as I listened on. Apparently 2 little girls with Down Syndrome had won their category in the Bonds Baby Competition and people were saying cruel things online about it. I immediately got on my computer and did a google search bonds baby comp down syndrome and the results came up proving this to be true. The Herald Sun reported the following comments that had been up on the Bonds Facebook page. (they actually named the nasty Mums)
“I’m not saying mine is but a lot of babies deserved it more. It is a competition based on looks,”
“some of the finalist babies were just plain and weird”.
“most of the kids were hideous”
How jealous and nasty can people be??? But, not to dwell on negative people because there was something to celebrate. 2 kids with Down Syndrome had won their category!! Immediately I thought “next year I am entering Ariel”. Sooooooo the Bonds baby comp 2015 is here and I have entered my girl. Here is her entry photo
