30 May May Musings
Estimated reading time 3 minutes
Goodbye May and good riddance! Such a tough month but I made it through alive (just).
I moved house and it did not go smoothly. Our new place is not suitable. There is a dampness and mold issue, which the real estate agent failed to tell me about (was left blank on conditions report so I am certain they knew about it). The humidity is at 90% most days and my towels never seem to dry, but most importantly it is playing havoc with Ariel’s health, which I cannot have! The owner and real estate agent are stalling which brings me to the conclusion I have to look for another place. FFS!!
I ran the Sydney half marathon, which was hard going under the circumstances, but in saying that, the sense of achievement was very satisfying.
Reading: No time this month unfortunately. Still reading Ariel’s favorites every night. I must get her some new books. Any recommendations please leave in the comments box.
Milestones: Ariel studies everything I do with my mouth. She tries her hardest to copy all the sounds. She is super keen to talk and it is something I am going to spend time on with her. It may be a bit early but her enthusiasm is there so lets go with it. She is trying to make the pig noise which is super cute!
She is saying “Teddy” and signing “bath” clearly. She also signed “Eat” yesterday at dinner time when she was hungry. So happy with her communication! This is definitely something I am going to spend time on in the next month.
She claps her hands and stomps her feet at the right time for the “happy and you know it” song. We also trying to say hooray but its coming out as hhhhhhhhaaah.
Standing and starting to walk along furniture, reluctantly I might add….
Eating: All of Ariel’s teeth are coming through so we have had a difficult month with eating. She loves toast right now and very keen to eat by herself so food of the month is vegemite toast. We love Burgen bread.
Hating: The fact I have to look for another place. So fricken annoying!
Loving: Ariel’s daycare and our OT Heidi. They are such a great support team. You can read more about them here
I am rolling into June with my fingers crossed!
