We are back and blogging again.

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Well, it has been over a year since I have written anything on this blog.

There has been a few reasons for the absence but mainly it was due to an article I read, written by blogger and appearance activist Carly Findlay. Please take the time to read the article Parents blogging about their children with disabilities: it isa fine line between awareness raising and shaming.

I must say this article struck a cord with me. I was a mum blogging about my child’s disability without her permission. And then I didn’t know how to change the direction on the blog.

I don think I was shaming especially but I didn’t want to risk hurting Ariel. I thought might turn it into a travel blog. No, Im sorry but it is impossible travelling with an anxious toddler and then blogging about it. So I took a break.

I thought I might just stop blogging about Ariel and her disability and close the site down. I was encouraged not to by those close to me. In fact some very good friends of ours believe in us so much they have come up with some exciting ideas and now Im motivated again. I originally started this website to set up a legacy for Ariel. I am not a young Mum and I worry that my little girl will be left with nothing. So here we are again but I will be careful how I blog and not cross the line and blog about disability. I tend to be an over sharer and although I don’t apologise for that I do need to be mindful how it affects Ariel.

The future of ArielsWorld.com.au

I will be extending the Ariel home fragrance range. I have just opened a shop in ebay.com.au and will be trialling potential new products. We will not be a disability blog, it will be a lifestyle blog.

Ariel, the baby ghost.

Ariel loves halloween especially ghosts. She kept talking about it so one day I thought I would get her a dress up ghost costume, We looked it up on the internet and she happened to spot a little toddler dresses in a fabulous ghost outfit. “baby ghost” she exclaimed! I ordered it and for the next week thats all I heard about until it arrived.

You cannot get cuter than that!

Thanks for reading xo
