29 Aug August Musings – Milestone bragging.
August has been a fantastic month. Happy birthday to me! My wonderful parents gave Ariel and I a weekend away with them to the Gold Coast all expenses paid. You can read about it here. I am feeling really strong and happy. Life in our world is good and I believe it is due to the work I have put in to myself lately. I have come through the dark times and I am feeling proud of myself. When I am healthy and happy I can be the best mum to Ariel and that is what matters to me right now.
Reading: Finished The Four Agreements and will write a review this week. A friend gave me the Louise Hay book You Can Heal Your Life and have been reading that. Although I don’t feel I need to be healed it is a good positive book. I will get stuck into some of the blogging books I bought recently this month.
Milestones: I am not going to buy into milestone bragging anymore. I don’t like the over celebrating basic life skills when kids achieve them. A large majority of kids will achieve their milestones, just at a different pace. It doesn’t mean anything and I would rather focus on other things that are more meaningful to me. Also, I don’t want other mum’s to feel bad if their child isn’t doing what Ariel is, and vice versa. It is not a competition and comparing will always make some of us feel bad. I see it all over social media and quite frankly I don’t want to be a part of it anymore. So, here is the end of the milestone bragging! 🙂
Eating: We haven’t been eating anything different lately. I’m looking forward to warmer weather so I can start some raw vegan creations. I did finish breastfeeding this month. Ariel weaned herself and that was that.
Hating: When someone will lie to your face and know that you know they are lying but do it anyway. It is so awkward and embarrassing. I know a few people that do this constantly and it is annoying.
Loving: The freedom to be me. The new friends I have made recently. Listening to Ariel say “This” constantly…. It is sooooooo cute.
